Come and celebrate Christmas in the City of Plymouth, with its extensive naval history, stretching back to the times of Sir Francis Drake and the Spanish Armada to today’s ultra-modern navy dockyards. We feature two half day excursions, one taking us into Cornwall and the other to rugged Dartmoor as well as a jam-packed festive entertainment programme.
Monday This morning we collect you from home to meet your tour coach, travelling to Plymouth and arriving late afternoon to the Crowne Plaza Hotel for 4 nights stay. Before dinner tonight we meet the hotel team for a drinks reception, and afterwards we enjoy musical entertainment.
Tuesday Christmas Eve – This morning we cross the Tamar Bridge at Saltash into Cornwall for a visit to the resort of Looe, returning to the hotel in time for lunch. The afternoon is free for you to explore – visit the famous Barbican, the Hoe, or look around the city centre and search for that last minute present. Later in the afternoon tea and mince pies are available. Take some time to relax before dinner and tonight’s entertainment. For those wishing to attend Midnight Mass details of local church services will be
available from the hotel reception, with mulled wine available on your return.
Wednesday Christmas Day – Merry Christmas to all! Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, enter the Chef’s Christmas Cake Competition, and then perhaps a stroll in the city or along the Hoe to work up an appetite for a traditional Christmas lunch. Listen to the Queen’s Speech and have a relaxing afternoon with a slice of Christmas cake and maybe a few board games will take you through to this evenings buffet following by more festive entertainment and fun.
Thursday Boxing Day – We have a morning excursion along the Tamar Valley to Tavistock and the edge of Dartmoor before returning for lunch. This afternoon is free for you to do as you wish. Pastries and tea will be served in the afternoon before tonight sees our Farewell Gala Dinner and a final night of entertainment.
Friday Following a final breakfast we reluctantly head for home, saying farewell to Plymouth and the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
