With rolling Capability Brown landscapes, an impressive art collection including works by JMW Turner & El Greco, renaissance masterpieces, exquisite Thomas Chippendale furniture, fabulous Robert Adam interiors, combined with 100 acres of award-winning Gardens and a renowned lakeside Bird Garden. It is unsurprisingly known as “The Jewel in Yorkshire’s Crown”. We have time to explore the house, majestic staterooms and glorious gardens. Afterwards, we head to Harrogate. Tuesday  This morning we are joined by a specialist local guide for our coach tour of the picture-postcard Yorkshire Dales, one of Britain’s finest National Parks. Our tour will take us into Wharfedale, one of the Yorkshire Dales' longest and most beautiful valleys. We pass through the picturesque town of Ilkley known as the 'Heather Spa' which nestles below Rombalds Moor and onto Skipton, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. The town is famous for its magnificent medieval castle which stands proud at the top of the High Street. From here we make our way into the dales and the pretty village of Grassington with its quaint cottages and cobbled market square. Leaving Grassington, we make our way towards Otley. The attractive parks alongside the river and independent shops & cafés in the many alleys and yards make Otley one of the most popular towns in Wharfedale.

Wednesday This morning we visit the picturesque village of Haworth, home of the Brontë sisters, surrounded by beautiful moorland and the Pennine Hills. It was here, amid the wonderfully dramatic landscape, that the Brontës were inspired to write novels such as Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre. We then travel by coach to Keighley, where we enjoy a nostalgic journey through West Yorkshire countryside on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, a lovingly preserved standard gauge heritage railway. The steam-hauled trip goes up the Worth Valley to Oxenhope, passing the rugged hills, rustic stone cottages and wild farmland immortalised in the classic film 'The Railway Children', which was filmed here along with countless other films and TV programmes. Return to the hotel via the nearby beautiful village of Esholt former filming location of TV's "Emmerdale".

Thursday Time to bid a fond farewell and head for home with suitable stops en route. On our return to Wiltshire your taxi will be waiting to return to you to your home.
