Autumn just wouldn’t be the same without a trip to the worlds famous Blackpool Illuminations. The Illuminations have been a major part of Blackpool’s attraction since 1879 when they were described as ‘Artificial Sunshine’ and have been guiding light for visitors to the resort ever since. With over 3 million visitors every year, it was just as popular as it ever was.

ITINERARY

Friday – We collect you from your local pick-up point and travel to Blackpool, arriving late afternoon at the Elgin Hotel for a three-night stay – dinner, bed and breakfast. Enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly before dinner this evening.

Saturday – Enjoy the day at leisure in Blackpool, the only British seaside resort to boast three piers.

Sunday – Within an hour we are amid some of the most beautiful scenery on our full day tour to the Lake District. We visit Bowness on Lake Windermere, where there will be ample time to explore, you may even wish to take a lake cruise (not included).

Monday – After breakfast we leave and begin our homeward journey with suitable stops

Evening tour –  During your stay you will have a chance to board a tram from outside the hotel which will take you down through the spectacular ‘Illuminations’ on the seafront
