Bute is a pretty little island spanning 15 miles long and less than 5 miles wide located just off the west coast of southern Scotland. It offers visitors a range of scenery, from rugged hills and sandy beaches!
ITINERARY
Sunday - Depart from our home area in the morning heading North, we arrive late afternoon at our overnight hotel. Overnight stay – dinner, bed & breakfast.
Monday - Depart from our overnight hotel in the morning heading for Dunoon, crossing via the Gourick Ferry. We arrive late afternoon at the Argyll Hotel. 4 nights stay – dinner, bed & breakfast. Hotel entertainment on three evenings.
Tuesday - Today is free for you to explore your new surroundings in Dunoon. Make your way into the town – a pleasant walk along the promenade, enjoy lunch and relax and watch the world go by.
Wednesday - A spectacular sightseeing tour today. We visit the lovely little white-washed town of Inveraray. There is time for a look around and obtain a drink and bite to eat before our afternoon visit to magnificent, unique and fascinating Inveraray Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll (Featured in Downton Abbey as Duneagle Castle).
Thursday - This morning we have a sightseeing drive around Bute, after crossing by ferry from Colintrave to Rhubodach, ending with a visit to the superb Mount Stuart House. Set in 300 acres of landscape and woodlands, the house is known as Britain’s most spectacular Victorian Gothic House. It is an architectural fantasy of the 3rd Marquis of Bute. Set 5 miles south from Rothesay this is an ideal way to end the tour.
Friday - Depart from our hotel in the morning heading South, we arrive late afternoon at our overnight hotel.
Saturday – Following a final breakfast we will begin our final journey home, where your taxi will be waiting to take you back to your home address.
